Hornets Name Four Football Captains for 2013 Season

The Enumclaw High School football team is hosting King of the Plateau 7 v. 7 and Big Man Contest from July 23 through 25.

With high school football season a little more than a month away, the Enumclaw High School football team is already buzzing with excitement as it recently named four team captains for its upcoming season.

The four seniors, Cameron Strecker, Peter Nordby, Mauricio Portillo and Chandler Streuli, were selected by their coaches and teammates, according to the Enumclaw Football Foundation.

While the Hornets kick off their regular season on Friday, Sept. 6, against White River in Buckley, the community is invited to catch some action this week.

King of the Plateau 7 v. 7 and Big Man Contest are set for July 23 through 25 at the Enumclaw Field House (Pete's Pool) from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

For the King of the Plateau 7 v. 7, each team is guaranteed two games in the double emanations competition.

The Big Man Contest will be on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Hornets will also be hosting Alumni Night on Tuesday. All former EHS players are invited to attend the first 7 v. 7. and receive a free hot dog. 

The Pete's Pool is located at SE 448th St. and 288th Ave. SE.

Participants and fans are encouraged to wear Hornet gear.
