Mutual of Enumclaw Stage Race Next Weekend

Between 500 to 600 people are expected to take part in the Mutual of Enumclaw Stage Race this upcoming weekend of May 19 and May 20, a press release said this week.

Partnered as a fundraiser for Washington Special Olympics, the two-day event is a demonstration of strength and endurance. It begins on Saturday, May 19 with a 10 kilometer time trial and criterium (30 minutes) and ends on Sunday, May 20 with a 44 mile road race.

The total prize purse is $10,000 and will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category. The Kids Race, which provides a great opportunity for young riders to get a start in racing, is a criterium on Saturday afternoon.

The event draws cyclists from the U.S. and Canada with past participants including up-and-coming cycling professionals Svien Tuft (2006-2007 UCI American Tour winner), Tour de France participant Tyler Farrar and the 2004 US National Road Race Champion, Thomas Peterson who now rides professionally for Garmin-Barracuda. Tuft won the Mutual of Enumclaw Stage Race in 2005 and 2007.

Registration: Online registration only. Registration closes at 11:59 pm Monday May 14, 2012. Late registrations will be taken till 6 pm Thursday May 17th and charged a $20 late fee. No refunds once registration closes.

Cost: $80 + WA State sales tax - USA Cycling license required to race. One day licenses will be available at packet pickup for Cat 4 women and Cat 5 men. All international riders are welcome with a UCI license.

Rider Check-in and Number pickup: Friday May 18th from 5-9:30 PM, Saturday May 19th 6:30am-11:30 AM at The Park Center Hotel. Current USAC or UCI license must be presented at check-in. Juniors - use Series numbers. All other numbers issued in packet.
