VIDEO: Pacific Northwest Highland Games Commence

The 66th annual gathering of the Seattle Scottish Highland Games Association began on Friday and continues with more music, history and pageantry at the Enumclaw Expo Center through Sunday.

There is one more day to come down to the and partake in this year's celebration of all things Scottish (and some Celtic too) in the Pacific Northwest.

From music to dance, athletic competitions to learning more about your family's lineage, apparel or food, this event is both impressive and enchanting in its ability to both entertain and teach spectators about that country just north of that other country that's currently hosting the 2012 Olympics.

Check out our little video compilation from our Saturday visit to get you excited about coming down today, the last day of the event. We were excited to have caught a performance of Jim and Pat McDonald and the in the afternoon particularly as this group rehearses weekly at Danish Hall in Enumclaw.

Gates reopen and booths open again Sunday beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Tickets for adults are $15. For seniors 60+, children 5 to 17, and Military, a one-day ticket costs $11. Kids under 5 are free and parking is $5 a day.

Visit the official website of the Seattle Scottish Highland Games Association (www.sshga.org) for more information, including a complete event schedule, camping information, lodging, maps and more.
