Arts on the Plateau: David Bozich emcees show; Krista Little has gallery showing

Two local artists doing what they do best; sharing their talents.

David Bozich Emcees Show

If you have visited Enumclaw Music on Cole Street you have probably talked to a man whose impassioned personality brightens your day. The owner and musician, David Bozich, along with his lovely wife, Cathy, have created a vibrant hub for musicians of all ages. Musicians often linger to talk instruments and take mutual pleasure in the creativity of the musical arts. On April 14, David will show another side of his talents, he will be the emcee for JAZZ SUNDAY, a three hour concert at the Chalet Theatre, presented by Chalet Arts Showcase Theatre (CAST). A graduate from Western Washington University with his major in music, David has a great deal of stage experience having performed off and on throughout his life, in a rock band in his youth, playing in symphonies and many years leading worship services. After he retired from Microsoft as a Senior Developer, David fulfilled his dream and bought the music store in early 2012. Since then, he and Cathy, have worked fervently to strengthen the music scene in downtown Enumclaw. And now it will be enjoyable to see David introduce two Pacific Northwest jazz bands on stage, a place where he feels right at home.

Krista Little met a lot of art enthusiasts when she served as Gallery Manager at Arts Alive! Center for the Arts in Enumclaw from January 11, 2012 to January 31, 2013.
Ever wondered where she is now? Well, she is working solely on her own art now, something she had little time for when volunteering 20 hours a week at the gallery (and helping her husband Peter remodel the house they bought two years ago). So, it is progress that she is showing 10 pieces of her work in a small art gallery at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Tacoma, some of which has already sold. The show is up until the end of April.  The art work shown here is titled “Divine DNA / Creation” and this 8 foot by 6 foot acrylic and foil painting is attracting a lot of attention. Krista and her husband Peter have lived on the plateau for 2 years. She earned her Master of Arts Education at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia. Her work is primarily with acrylic paint and at times she introduces additional mediums to her paintings.  “I work a lot with color; teaching color theory at the Art Institute of Vancouver for five years has significantly influenced my work,” says Krista.
The show is open during church office hours: Mon.-Thurs, 8:30am-12:30pm at 4420 North 41st Street, in Tacoma.
