Enumclaw VFW Post to Hold Memorial Day Service on May 26

Other VFW-sponsored events will be held throughout the weekend.

Enumclaw's VFW Post 1949 will honor fallen members of the U.S. military with a service on Sunday, May 26. 

The program will be held at Enumclaw Veterans Memorial Park, located at the corner of Railroad Street and Monroe Avenue. Here is some additional information from the VFW:

The Memorial Day program will be held at Enumclaw Veterans Memorial Park on Sunday May 26th, commencing at 1:40 PM with music by the Enumclaw Gateway Band. The main program will start at 2:00 PM.

In addition to the Gateway Band, the Allegro Women’s Ensemble and Scottish American Military Society will be participating. Guest speakers include Mayor Liz Reynolds, State Senator Pam Roach, and Gary Condra, Lt. Colonel, USA, Ret.  (Currently Deputy Director of the Washington Department of Veterans Affairs).

The City of Enumclaw Parks and Recreation Department is providing bleachers and shelter.  All are encouraged to attend.
Along with the Saturday event, the VFW will also be placing hundreds of flags at Evergreen Memorial Park on Friday afternoon. Each flag will bear the name of a deceased veteran.

A fire watch ceremony will begin at 9 p.m. Sunday at Enumclaw Veterans Memorial Park and continue until 6 a.m. Monday. On Monday, a brief ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park to honor the veterans who are buried there.
