The Enumclaw Fire Department serves the city of Enumclaw and 89 square miles of unincorporated King CountyMore surrounding the city. </p> <p>Voters in November 2010 approved the annexation of the Enumclaw Fire Department into King County Fire District 28, meaning that management of the department has now transferred exclusively to the Fire District whereas prior to the election, both the city of Enumclaw and the Fire District managed the Department.</p> <p>Logistically, staffing remains the same and residents should not experience any difference in service.</p> <p>The Department has roughly 45 volunteer firefighters, nine of which are professional firefighters and three of whom are captains. </p> <p>In addition to the station's headquarters on Wells Street, the District also oversees Station 2 located at 35421 Veazie-Cumberland Road in Cumberland and Station 3 at 43404 212th Ave SE in Enumclaw. The latter two stations are not typically staffed but volunteers will respond from these stations when called.</p>

The Samaritan Project

The Samaritan Project, under the umbrella organization Plateau Outreach Ministries, is run by staff and volunteersMore who help provide emergency help for those in need of funds to pay for rent, emergency shelter, power and utilities or medicine. The Project is also able to provide referrals for counseling.</p> <p>The organization logs more than 8,000 volunteer hours each year and has been an important presence in Enumclaw for the last decade. A combination of donations from private citizens, churches, local agencies and assistance from the city of Enumclaw helps sustain the Samaritan Project, which serves residents in Enumclaw as well as the surrounding communities.</p>

The staff and faculty strives to create a supportive and cooperative environment bolstered by volunteers and family members. Westwood's PTA has helped on various projects including art, Spanish and playground enhancements. The PTA sponsors a variety of community events to support the school.

Established in 1953, the King County Fire District #44 (Mountain View Fire & Rescue), Station 94 serves residentsMore throughout a 70-square mile radius, including Enumclaw City, Auburn, Kent and Black Diamond. The career/volunteer squad provides fire and basic life support services.
