Born in a small farming community in California on July 18th, 1947 into a WASP family of ranchers-turned-town dwellers. Father was a realtor, and mother a ringmaster to 5 kids. Paul was the youngest of his siblings. Early interest in sports and adventure and beagles. Raised in this Western small-town atmosphere until college. Served in U.S.M.C. during Vietnam Era.
