She had been working as a local news reporter for nearly seven years with the Suburban and Wayne Times and Main Line Suburban Life before joining Patch in February 2011. Sam became interested in journalism by working at the student newspaper of her high school, Merion Mercy Academy. She then studied print journalism at American University in Washington, DC. Sam returned to the Main Line in 2002 briefly before a short sojourn living in France. She returned again to her hometown to work as a barista at the Gryphon Café, taking in the town gossip before being hired to report the news and only the news that’s fit to print (read: no gossip). She hopes that she can provide the most compelling local news and life coverage for those who live, work and have an interest in Radnor Township. But the more readers who are involved with her site the more comprehensive it will be, so don’t be shy to call or e-mail Sam with news tips, suggestions for the site, or anything else. Really. Beliefs At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know. Politics: How would you describe your political beliefs? I often joke that I dislike both major political parties equally, and sadly that’s pretty much true.  I don’t support either party. Religion: How religious would you say you are? Casual, observant, devout, non-religious? I’m not very religious at the moment, but I do respect those who are. Local Hot Button Issues: What do you think are the two or three most important issues facing the community? Where do you stand on each of these issues? There are many issues facing Radnor today like the economy, which trickles down to the services we receive from governmental entities, crime, parking, health and well-being–things all communities face. As with most issues I can be found standing in the middle, agreeing with aspects of both sides and not having a strong opinion. I am pretty much always open-minded.
