One Month Left to Meet Community Rachel's Challenge Goal
The Rachel's Challenge paper chains symbolizing individual acts of kindness and compassion have been a ubiquitous sight around town, and the community has only one month left to reach its goal of a two-mile-long chain.
It seemed like a far-off goal when the community-wide was first announced in September of last year, but believe it or not, there's only one month left to reach the goal of stringing together a two-mile-long chain of paper links symbolizing individual acts of kindness and compassion.
Enumclaw Schools Superintendent Mike Nelson in a weekly message to community leaders and educators said Sunday that to date, the effort is closing in on 1.25 miles -- so there are 30 days left to amass the remaining 3/4 of a mile.
We heard lots of anecdotes during last month's snow, ice and wind storms about neighbors helping neighbors and business leaders going above and beyond () to extend a helping hand -- for recipients of these acts of kindness, have you filled out a link or two about what you've experienced?

Remember, every act counts. Personally, I'd like to thank the kind couple who both bought me a cup of coffee one morning when I was without power to work or stay warm, and then offered their home for a quick shower and a load of laundry.
Then mark your calendars for March 6 at 6:30 p.m. when the challenge culminates in a community gathering at Enumclaw Stadium.
