Enumclaw Welcomes Kahne Home

NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne, a native of Enumclaw, visited his hometown June 20. He greeted fans at the store that bears his name, which his mother, Tammy, runs, answering questions and signing autographs. Even in the pouring rain, the crowd lined Cole Street and filled the tents nearby.

“It’s really awesome that the community comes and supports him, because you don’t always get that,” Tammy Kahne’s cousin Julie, who works at the store, said. “Kasey is really humble.”

Kasey Kahne spent several minutes meeting young children who race with the Little Wheelers quarter midget racing program and two boys from Ashley House, a home for children with congenital birth defects or who have been in catastrophic accidents. One asked Kahne if he still remembered him from the last time he visited. Kahne said yes.
